BIO

Xuewei (Eva) Hu is a lighting designer currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Originally From China, Xuewei brings a global perspective to her artistry. Inspired by the boundless possibilities of light, she enjoys weaving the poetic nature of light into authentic narratives, enriching the human experience with storytelling, and sparking curiosity to explore the world that impacts us all. Selected work: South Side Stories Revisited (City Theatre), The Discarded (Rattlestick Theater Global Forms Festival), One Day Down (SheNYC Summer Theater Festival), You On the Moors Now (CMU Drama).

Beyond her design, Xuewei has toured as a stage manager and touring manager for  DoodlePOP China Tour and has experience working with immersive theater.
She is a third-year MFA candidate in the lighting design program at Carnegie Mellon University, and she holds a B.A. in Theater and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley (2019).
